Kaisercraft Cherry Tree lane Publications Card and Layout

Cherry Tree Lane Layout by Alicia McNamara

Just popping in to share a couple of Publications using Kaisecraft's Cherry Tree Lane Collection.  These were both featured in the January Kaisercraft Workshop Magazine which you can download for free here.

This Layout I made with a heritage Photo of my Great Grandmother.
This is how to make the Layout:

Papers:
Cherry Tree Lane Collection

P2230 Post Cards, P2225 Postal, PS476 Letters - Perforated, CS279 Clear Stamps, CT872 Collectables, IP724 Ink Pad – Bark, Flourish Packs – FL590 Love and FL586 Frames, SB791 Pearls – Pewter, PL513 Pearl Flourishes – Classic Chocolate, LDB1059 Natural Twine

Instructions:

Cut POST CARDS (reverse) to 29.5 x 29.5 cm and ink edges with Bark Ink.  Layer onto POSTAL (reverse) and ink edges of POSTAL with Bark ink.  This provides the base of the layout.

Cut LETTERS along perforated lines and choose some of these to layer behind photograph with floral collectables.  Stamp postage stamp with Bark ink in the center of the page and towards the middle right-hand side of the page.  Add a swirl using Pearl Flourish just below the main stamp.

Attach photograph with mounting tape and embellish with a Wooden Flourish frame just under the top left-hand corner of the photograph.  Add a “Forever” wooden flourish on the bottom right hand corner, below the photograph.  Add a wooden flourish butterfly and two hearts above the “Forever” word.

Layer a floral Collectable on top of the top right-hand corner of the photograph and tie some Natural twine through the hole in the collectable in a bow.  Letting the tail of the twine hang down to the wooden flourish heart below.  Embellish with some Chocolate Pearls.

Questions

Just a few questions I have for you, what do you prefer to make...Cards or Layouts?  Do you find it tricky to make a Layout and then get your head back into card-making?  Or do you make mainly cards and then find it hard to get back into making a Layout?  Do you find you need a different head-space for the different sized projects? I'm just curious to ask.  I find I struggle going from layouts to cards and back again.  I haven't found a way to do the same techniques on both yet...but I'm working on it...I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below xx
